UNTYING THE DOCKLINES IS A BEAUTIFUL THING

After nearly a year in San Diego, we were anxious to be At Sea. We are preparing for our journey to the Pacific Northwest in the spring, and decided, what better spot to get ready than Mexico! Four months and counting until Scrimshaw travels from Ensenada, Mexico to Port Ludlow, Washington. Just to start.
This has been our view of Point Loma.
Kona Kai has been lovely, but boats are made to CRUISE!
We left the marina just before sunrise with calm seas and fairwinds.
A sailing stinkpot.
You can take the man off a sailboat,
but you can't take the wind out of his sails.

Just under 8 hours later we arrived at Marina Coral.
Our new view.
Everyone remembered Sparky!
Sparky The Vizsla
And I remembered the pool and lush grounds.
The outside pool, with the inside pool, spa, and gym
 located in the adjacent building.
We enjoyed complimentary margaritas served with shrimp tostados.
The new outside Grill is a great addition.
Followed by a complimentary killer sunset.
Speaking of sunsets, this was taken a few years ago.
Sunset aboard our sailboat, El Tiburon, in the Sea of Cortez.

Color is important to the Mexico VIBE. Magnificent fiery orange sunsets and deep aqua seas, vibrant art and architecture, pervasive expressions of holiday joy, all alert the senses to a cultural richness and ALIVENESS not always found in American cities. Brilliant colors both inspire and reflect the HAPPINESS of Mexico's people. And, it's contagious.

Christmas is everywhere!
A children's Rehabilitation Center in La Paz.
Sparky's favorite casa in La Cruz, Puerto Vallarta.
We're staying in Ensenada long enough for Carnival in February.
Carnival offers 3 days of fun, floats, food, and frolic!
Hotel California, Todos Santos, Baja.
Mexican happy colors found their way to my cocina!
Fresh Seared Tuna. Y U M !
